It's that time of the year when my annuals start looking a bit straggly and tired. Actually, most to them withered away when we were on vacation a few weeks ago. I thought this would be the perfect time to slowly start changing my porch from it's summer looks to reflect a more Autumn look. And since autumn is my favorite time of the year this was a very fun project for me.
I bought a new grapevine wreath today for the front door. As it gets closer to Autumn I'll decorate in a more seasonal theme.
The purple and green sweet potato vines actually survived the July
heatwave that we had.
I replaced the geraniums with some beautiful burnt orange colored mums and added a large purple annual grass in the back to add some height.
I love this view of my Plum Tree, one of my favorite trees on my property.
Since my lovely white petunia's withered away, I replaced them with a Boston fern. These are pretty hardy and live on my porch until sometime in November.
Isn't she a beauty....snuck up on her while she was eating my
Black Eyed Susans or whats left of them....again!

Hi Marianne! Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful photos of your porch and yard. My front door pots are getting "tired" too. I appreciate you sharing what you are transistioning your pot plants to since I'm not that good with plants/flowers. Such great photos of the dear eating your black eye susans.
ReplyDeleteHi I'm visiting from Met Monday - your front porch is beautiful, you know a lot about flowers. Wish I did but sadly I do not have a green thumb (i.e. I always forget to water). Your deer is also beautiful, sorry she's eating the flowers :)
