New York City that is! I grew up in North Jersey in a small city called
Garfield and my husband is from Queens, NY, right off the noisy Long Island Expressway. NYC was always like a second home to both of us.
Now living a bit further away we still want our boys to grow up
loving it as much as we did and we try to go in as often as we can.
So off we went!
We decided to drive into Hoboken and take the ferry into the city,
yes, home of the Cake Boss.
The line was two blocks long to get a peek inside. Needless to say,
we didn't get on line this time.
I love all of the old brownstones, they have so much character.
The streets are filled with lovely little cafe's.
And here we are, at the Hoboken Ferry dock. The boys were so excited to take the ferry into NYC and honestly, so was I since I never took one into the city before.
The Manhattan skyline on a very overcast day.
The George Washington Bridge which takes you from New Jersey into NYC.
The Empire State Building and the back of Mr. Country.
One World Trade Center....once it's complete, it will be the tallest
office building in the world.
Times Square and the New Years Eve ball.
We hit all of the kiddie tourist sites, the boys just loved everyone one of them.
Now this is every child's dream store. There are more toys in here then
you can ever imagine....three floors of toys!
I hope you enjoyed my tour of NYC. If you've never been please add it to your bucket list. It's a must see!

I came to New York in February on a "girl's" trip. We had so much fun! One of my favorite things we did was to go to Times Square and had our picture made in the American Eagle store and then went outside to see ourselves on one of the huge billboards. Country come to town.
ReplyDeleteI was just there last month. One of my favorite places on Earth. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteI love New York city and can't wait to go back there one day. Times Square is such an incredible place. There's always something going on 24/7.
ReplyDeleteLoved that Santa on the Billboard!
Best wishes for a wonderful week,
Natasha.
Hi Marianne! Oh, what a fun day y'all must have had! Your boys are darling! Oh, how we love New York too! But I've never gotten to ride the ferry! I would love that!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I grew up in your neck of the woods, and I haven't been back to the city for quite some time. I enjoyed seeing your pics! My parents are taking my 5 year old to NYC in September. He is so excited! Glad you got to enjoy some time there with your cute boys :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Sounds like yall had a great trip. I used to live in NY and went to the city once but didn't check out all the sites. My kids would love that Toys r us!
ReplyDeleteI'm desperate to go to NYC, Marianne! It looks absolutely amazing and I think my family would like to do and see everything yours did. I'm hoping to travel there next year. I'm not sure I would wait in line for so long to go into Carlo's Bakery either - even though I love his shows! Great pictures.... glad you all had a fantastic time and I love the picture of your two boys where one has his camera tourist-style around his neck- too cute!
ReplyDeleteMarianne my mom grew up in Garfield! We are from Jersey but moved to Tennessee. We visited Carlos bakery last summer but it was closed. Love NYC! Thanks for the visit!
