I had this "not so nice" frame sitting in my closet with all of my other STUFF that I don't use.
At least it's all keeping each other company. Anyway, one day while browsing through this closet I got another one of my brainstorms...why not paint it! What an original idea.....so off I went to my paint closet to see what would inspire me and low and behold out jumped some Old Ochre chalk paint.
So here's my frame.... and doesn't she look lovely!
This is the before photo, not exactly my style. I don't even remember why I bought it but she was transformed into a beauty. I just love how all of the detail popped after I painted it.
I added a backing and painted it with black chalkboard paint and attempted to
draw a picture of a rooster.
My MIL gave me all of these silver spoons, I think they were her mothers. I've been seeing others display them and thought that it would be a nice idea to add another element.
Something was still missing.....FLOWERS!
So I went to my garden to cut some purple coneflowers.
Roo just loves this new display. As always, she is the center of attention.

WOW Me Wednesday at Savvy Southern Style

It turned out awesome and that was a great frame. I love ornate frames and try to snatch um up when I can. I need to find some old silverware.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your new painted frame! Looks so much prettier and you did great on drawing your Rooster! Lovely olden silverware and you've put together a very nice vignette.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love the frame! Amazing what a little chalk paint can do :) I'm currently working on a chalk paint frame too. It is enormous so I have to paint it in the garage, and we're currently experiencing a heat index of 110 degrees. Don't think I'll be finishing it any time soon :)
ReplyDeleteYour vignette looks SO pretty! I love the pink coneflowers in my yard...they are so hardy and prolific. I'm so glad that you painted something with Old Ochre paint. I ordered some but have not used it yet so now I have a better idea of what it looks like on a piece.
