Toweling Table Runner

In trying to lighten up my dining room for the summer, I decided to change the table runner on my table.  What to do.....well, after reading some posts I found what I thought would work great.  It's called TOWELING.  I've never heard of this before but loved the look of it.  And the best part......it already comes in 16" width with the side seams already sewn. What a great product for non-sewers.  You can't beat that, especially for $4.98 per yard.  I ordered three yards from Quilters Studio so I got a table runner for $14.94 plus shipping!  Even though I've seen some other bloggers projects using this I wasn't quite sure what to expect.  I'm used to spending upwards of $50 per yard for my fabric.   Needless to say I was very happy when my package arrived today.  I ran to my iron and used Stitch Witchery to iron on hems to both ends and VOILA....a new table runner!

I actually love it on my table. My old table runner was dark blue and really didn't show up on the dark  table.

This color is called blue and natural and goes great with all of my transferware.

And I changed out the white ironstone plates for blue transferware again
....can't make up my mind.

I'm loving this toweling and will be buying more of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

  1. Thanks for the tip! I really like that. It looks wonderful. I don't sew so that really helps.

Yours looks so fantastic on your table- it really has the perfect amount of 'casualness' to it! It looks great with your blue and white dishes, too.
