It's the last two weeks of school for my kids and we are just so busy with all of the End of The School Year activities. Matthew has his Kindergarten Celebration on Friday and I'm homeroom mom so you know what that means. Coordinate, set up and clean up the party which we are doing in a Luau theme. Then there is the Book Swap on the 16th and 17th which I am the Coordinator. Once again, sending out notices to the children's families, gathering boxes, sorting books according to grades and helping the kids pick out age appropriate books. This is a great way for the kids to free cycle what they don't want anymore. And lastly we have the teachers gifts. I have to get gifts for 6 teachers and 2 bus drivers. Nicholas has 4 teachers and Matthew has 2. I wanted to do something fun and creative yet something that I hope the teachers would use. While searching on the internet for ideas I came across these.....aren't they just adorable. And very easy to make!
I figured that I would give each teacher a small gift card to Michael's or Border's along with this. What do you think? So now....what the heck do I get for the bus drivers?
FRONT
I ordered one of these clip boards on-line and when I got it in they
looked so easy to make that I decided to make them for all of the teachers.
BACK
I went to Michael's and bought scrapbook paper, 3 or 4 pieces for each board, ribbons of different sizes and colors, some Mod Podge, stick-on letters and spray polycrylic. I got the clip boards at Staples for 1.99 each.
I used a small paper cutter to cut the scrapbook paper, it creates much better edge. After cutting I glued the paper to the clip boards using Mod Podge and stuck on the letters.
After everything was glued onto the board, I coated the entire thing with Mod Podge and after that dried sprayed on a coat of polycrylic to seal it.
After the board was completely dried I hot glued ribbon to the top
to give it that extra added prettiness.
They were very easy to make and quite inexpensive....and I think they came out really nice. I hope the teachers like them!

What a delightful gift for teachers and bus drivers! And you did a masterful job making them. If you ask me, that makes a gift all the more special.
