I'm a pretty sentimental person, so when I get something that belonged to a family member I really cherish it. This is one of the things I got that belonged to my Grandmother. I grew up in the same house that my mother lived in from the time she was a teenager. My maternal grandparents bought the house probably in the 40's and my parents bought it from them in the 60's. My mom sold it in the early 90's so there was a lot of history there...and a lot of stuff!
It was in pretty bad shape. The veneer was peeling off of the drawer so I decided to remove all of it.
Grandma's night table has now become Nana's night table. Nana is my mom and this is the room she stays in when she comes to visit us. My boys call it Nana's room.
I painted this in Annie Sloan's Chalk paint...Old Ivory and Old Ochre colors, than put a coat of clear wax over it. I think it came out pretty good.....Grandma would be proud!
Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed watching the transformation of Grandmas night table!

You've done a lovely job with Granmas night table. They made things well "in the olden days", which allows us to give the furniture a new lease on life.
