Gallery Wall Inspiration

I'm sitting here in my family room, eating chocolate chip cookies and looking at this HUMONGOUS never ending blank wall that goes up the back staircase.  I've wanted to design a gallery wall for years but really haven't known what I've wanted to do.  Gallery walls seem to be so popular now and there is a ton of inspiration out there.

Gallery walls come in all shapes and sizes and you can incorporate one anywhere in your home.  The subject of the gallery can vary or have a more cohesive feel.  They style in hanging can be symmetrical, funky or a little of both.  That's the beauty of a gallery wall....there is no right or wrong when designing one.

This is one of my favorite's with a variety of different pictures.  I love the way the gallery surrounds this beautiful french desk.
Here is great inspiration from Pottery Barn.  I love the blue walls with lots of natural elements going on.

Do you love mirrors as much as I do.....check out  Daisy's Cottage Wall of Mirrors.  I might incorporate some mirrors into my gallery.

This is a beauty and what I really want my wall to look like....this might take a while.

My closet is full of frames that I don't use anymore....all different colors, shapes and sizes. I must have about 30 of them.
I started by Chalk painting several of them to give them a fresh, country look.  I also want to keep some of them in their original state.  I'm thinking of incorporating a large clock, a couple of mirrors and other decorative things I can come up with.

You can see that some of them still have the gold showing through.

So this is the start of my future gallery wall.  One of my dilemma's is the picture gallery on the lower part of the staircase.  I would love to do something different but want it to flow nicely together.

Would love to hear some of your suggestions on my future Gallery Wall.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I think you are off to a great start. You said yourself that there is no right or wrong. I think all you really need to do is have balance with the size and shape of the frames or other wall decor, so you are not too top or bottom heavy.

  2. I love the way your frames are looking. That is a huge wall you have. I'd be clueless as to how to arrange it but I think you have a lot of great inspiration. Maybe you could make the bottom part be a continuation of what you're doing on top so that it all flows.
