My Blue Obsession

I have a thing for blue....it's in every room in my home. I've been collecting blue "stuff" for years and even had a blue bedroom when I was a little girl.  Maybe because it is such calming color, it reminds me of the sky.  I really don't know, but I just love it.

Loving the Italian Blue Platter, I have four of them.  This is also the everyday china that I want.  I need to start looking for good deals!

 This lovely bowl came from a garage sale.

This chair is 60 years old and is part of a set.  They were purchased by my in-laws when they first got married.  No one wanted them so my husband and I took them since they were headed to the dump....they were covered in orange velvet.  Well, they were a diamond in the ruff!  Since they have been reupholstered I've had many people wanting to purchase them.  Never judge a book by its cover!

I refinished these two pieces.  The desk was just a raw wood piece I found at an antique store.  I painted it blue, sanded it to make it look distressed and than glazed it.

This cupboard is one of my favorite pieces in my home.  There are many layers of paint on it so I just brightened the blue and sanded it in spots to let the other colors shine through.
